Livestreaming IRL Events with StreamrTV: Perfect for Live Panels, Conferences, Meetups, & Weddings
Apr 27, 2025
StreamrTV is the perfect tool for quickly and easily livestreaming events, talks, panels, or meetups — all with minimal gear. Whether you’re broadcasting from a laptop, phone, or a full streaming rig, StreamrTV lets you go live in 1-click with no fees, logins, or software install required for broadcasters or viewers.
How to Stream Your Event (Mobile or Desktop)
The process is nearly identical on phone and desktop — here’s how to do it in just a few steps.
1. Schedule Your Stream
Visit tv.streamr.network.
Click "Schedule" in the top-right.
Enter your stream title and start time.
Share the link with your audience ahead of time — that's all for now!

2. Set Up Your Device at the Event
Use a laptop or phone positioned with a clear view of the speaker/stage.
Connect to reliable Wi-Fi (or use a phone hotspot if Wi-Fi isn’t available).
Plug in your device to avoid battery interruptions.
Close unnecessary apps/tabs for smoother performance and better stream stability.
3. Prepare to Go Live
Just before the event, go to your scheduled stream.
Find your scheduled stream and click the “i” icon, then hit “Go Live” (this just opens the stream; it doesn’t start broadcasting yet).
If prompted, enable microphone and camera access. You might need to do this in your browser or OS settings — best to test before the event.
4. Configure Your Audio and Camera
Click the up arrow next to the microphone icon to select your input device:
Use the built-in laptop mic, or
Choose an external mic (Bluetooth or wired)
On Mac/iPhone, you can even use your iPhone as a microphone via Continuity (AirPlay).
Then do the same for your camera: choose the built-in webcam or an external video source.
Ensure your mic and camera icons are active (no red slashes through them).
Tip: Keep it simple — built-in mic and webcam are often the most reliable.
5. Test Before the Event
Before the big day, do a private test stream to check:
Mic and camera permissions enabled for your browser
Audio quality
Frame rate/stability
Whether your device overheats (especially phones)
Testing avoids last-minute surprises — especially on mobile, where settings and thermal throttling can behave unpredictably.
6. Go Live!
Once you’re happy with the setup, hit “Go Live” and your event will be instantly viewable to anyone with the link.

Interact, present, or just let the stream run — it’s that simple.
Once live, it’s a good idea to try opening the stream in a private browser on a separate device to make sure the sound and picture is coming through ok.
Mobile Streaming Notes
The process is the same on mobile:
Open your scheduled stream, allow mic/camera, select inputs, and go live.
Keep your phone plugged in, especially for longer events.
On some devices, streaming can cause heat buildup — developers are working on it, but for now:
Stream in a cooler environment
Avoid direct sunlight
Monitor your phone to ensure it doesn’t overheat
Choose Your Stream Quality
StreamrTV supports SD, HD, and UHD.

At many live venues, the internet can be patchy — in those cases, SD is recommended for smoother performance.
If you’re confident in your upload bandwidth, try HD or UHD for a crisp image.
And that’s it! You’re broadcasting peer-to-peer with your audience! If you’d like any help, or would like to learn more or connect with creators, then jump into the StreamrTV Discord community.
