Setup: Mac + OBS Studio + OBS Virtual Camera + BlackHole

Steps:

  1. Open OBS, and start the Virtual Camera

  2. In Sources, click + → Media Source → Select your video file

  3. In the Audio Mixer, click the gear icon → Advanced Audio Properties

  4. Set Audio Monitoring to “Monitor and Output”

  5. On Mac, go to System Settings → Sound → OutputBlackHole 16ch

  1. Adjust volume before switching output, or switch back temporarily

  2. In StreamrTV (before you Go Live):

    • Camera input: OBS Virtual Camera

    • Mic input: BlackHole 16ch

You’re now streaming a video file with clean audio and video.

⚠️ If you change audio devices mid-stream, audio may drop. Set everything before going live.

⚠️ Do not stream copyrighted or pirated content or anything that violates the StreamrTV terms and conditions (available in app). You are responsible for what you broadcast.

Option 2 (Windows): Play a Recorded File Directly from Your Laptop (recommended)

✅ You’re now streaming a video file with clean AV output.

⚠️ Test your setup first with a short clip to confirm everything is working.

⚠️ Do not stream copyrighted or pirated content or anything that violates the StreamrTV terms and conditions (available in app). You are responsible for what you broadcast.

Option 2: Stream a Browser Tab via Screenshare

Easiest if your content is on an existing website.

  1. Open the video or webpage in Chrome, in a separate tab

  2. In your StreamrTV tab, click the screenshare icon (square with arrow)

  3. Choose “Browser Tab” → your video tab → enable “Share tab audio”

  4. Go back to your tab and ensure the webpage is properly set up

  5. Return to StreamrTV and click Go Live

✅ Your content is now live to all viewers on StreamrTV.

⚠️ Important:

Make sure you are not violating any terms of service or copyright laws by broadcasting the content. Many platforms prohibit restreaming their content — even via screenshare or in private events. Only stream material that you own or have the legal right to distribute. You are solely responsible for what you broadcast.
